These are the words of those who, on 23 August 1989, joined their hands with two million other people forming a 600km-long chain from Tallinn to Vilnius across the three Baltic countries. This event has gone down in history as the Baltic Way and represents a piece of history for Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians who, in the revolutionary wake of this event, managed to gain independence from the Soviet regime. On that occasion, touching one's neighbour's fingertips became a powerful gesture, through which the individual lent their body to the affirmation of the community.&nbsp; The emotional legacy of this event is still alive today, thirty years later, and one can fully experience it by talking to those who took part in it. During a study period in Vilnius, Ottavia Catenacci was able to collect testimonies and emotions (oppression, determination, liberation) and drew inspiration from them. Glory was at the fingertips pays homage to the Baltic Way and the hands of those people who, by touching each other for ten minutes, changed the course of history. The memories are floating, taking on water and sinking. I went out to see if anyone was left. You are not reading a story, you are seeing images. I don’t understand you and you cannot hear me. The work was possible thanks to the important support of the dramaturg Amelia Tan (UK) and the sound designer Eliza Bozek (PL/DK). It was created mainly at DDSKS with a short residency at Art Printing House in Vilnius, Lithuania in December 2021. godsibb is a solo that hosts different characters and scenes. It uses props, lights, other theatrical tropes and movement to navigate some sort of story, generated through anonymous fiction donations. The process started from the desire to use external inputs as a motor of storytelling, investigating the artist’s mode of working, combining her scenography and visual art background with dance and performance making. The work deals with the question of how to transform static 2D elements - such as pictures, sketches and scores - into a moving 3D reality, making them stretch in time. Ottavia Catenacci invited people around her to donate any kind of fiction (be it a single word, a drawing, or a short story), which provided scope for the imagination and the content for the creation of scores. The ‘fiction cards’ were mixed, sorted and selected, then interpreted through a visual intuition. The fragmented fictional stories became part of a transformative world, where the heaviness of romanticism was lightened up, almost like poking up towards the light. YOUR HEART OUT is a work about fandom - defined as ‘the state of being a fan of someone or something, especially a very enthusiastic one’. Being-a-fan is a practice that appears in our society in different contexts: pop culture, sports, career, politics, religion, art, etc. At its extreme, it can be characterized by the irrationality of desires, beliefs, obsessions, hierarchy and admiration. Nevertheless, fandom brings people together and is a community builder. The work is rooted in a devotion to dance and to the body as an amplifier of human relationships. Using choreography as a constructive and destructive tool, we create a dance performance that uses fandom to display human complexities with humor, play and bitter ambiguity. Inspired by the historical evolution of the term gossip, the project chal lenges its derogatory connotation and invites us to nurture the multiplic ity of female alliances in our time. Historically, gossip, from the Old Eng lish godsibb (God+ sibb “relative”), referred to neighbours, godmothers, friends, the social network of women who cared for each other, but it was negatively transformed during the witch hunt, associating it with women who engage in idle chatter. Gossip Body started from the desire to explore storytelling by drawing on human relationships as a material for composition. Encounters are collected and transformed into scenes and characters that mingle, ap pear and dissolve. The project portrays a body attempting to tell a story inspired by words exchanged, encounters with friends and people who share everyday life. With the audience all around the white stage, two dancers follow, resist, rewrite and engage with "the script"—both as a physical object and a metaphor for destiny, fate, and an invisible structure framing our lives. They flip many pages, get distracted by their dreams, engage in precise steps and movement phases, kiss, meet in a couple dance, leave the stage, invite a printer into their dance. The spectators’ eyes shift from large patterns of steps across space to small, intimate details, like what is hidden inside a pocket. Dancing and pretending become generative acts—sometimes serious, sometimes humorous—allowing moments of absurdity, sentimentality, and intimacy to emerge. The performance carries a subtle allusion of witnessing another's secret, as if peering into the intimate situations that compose the romance of living. about contact &nbsp; Ottavia Catenacci (she/her) is an Italian dancer and choreographer based in Copenhagen. She has a BFA in Scenography from Urbino Fine Art Academy, and a BFA in Dance and Choreography and an MFA in Choreography from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen. She performed for Samuel Feldhandler, Snorre Elvin, Renan Martins, Matija Ferlin, Doris Uhlich, Iván Pérez, Aske Thiberg and Bob Kil, amongst others. Ottavia makes dances, from the concreteness of the dancing body and the allusiveness of relations that many of those create on stage.
